Well, on May the fourth I completed my first half marathon in nearly five years. At least that distance in a “race” environment. I was pretty psyched to run under a 10 minute per mile pace. I just started running again in January and feel good about the time and effort. Go me.

In the Future
In the future, all course evaluations will be delivered to faculty in the form of song. I wish I could say I would be the one singing them all, but we ay have to leave that to AI. Or not.
But I did give myself the results of a mid-quarter student survey to myself in the form of a ska like song.
I got to chat with a former colleague here who up and moved with her family to New Zealand a couple years after I started working with her. It is so wonderful to hear about the adventures of her family on such a great journey in life. For several years she was the Director of Digital Innovation at the Kristin School. She recently took a job with Instructure. Go Sara!

After sharing that I had dreamt up some presentation about “Digital Yoga,” Alan gets me in touch with Maren Deepwell. I had never met Maren before and what a treat. I ended up with like 20 sticky notes scattered on my desk with all kinds of good ideas for the presentation. Mostly is was wonderful to connect with two amazing people.

Keeping up with the connections theme, the PNWIDs thing still has this weird monthly meeting where someone might show up. And the most reliable participant has been Skye Nguyen from Lane Community College. We have had wonderful conversations about tools and school culture. I feel very grateful that she keep showing up becuase she always has somethign to share! This month she turned me on to the AI Assistant in Canva.

This is what Canva AI can do.
I got to hang out with the amazing BCcampus people again. I shared with them the mid quarter evaluation some above and how that happened and also a bit about Canva AI Assistant. All things I learned about this month.

And, as if all that was not enough, I got to listen to the Jim Groom chat with Bryan Alexander.

Lastly, I created a Google Site with some examples of crap I have created using AI. I wonder, am I just contributing to the overwhelming amount of crap on the internet by doing this? Will some poor soul have my the song about evaluations in a college course come up as one of the first results in a search for diners nearby? Am I feeding the beast?

On the very last day of the month I took a bike ride.
