I have enjoyed the posts and some interactions with participants. I am happy that I wrote each of the six weekly posts and that is always good. For me, writing can be a bit meditative. Like yoga, once I commit to being in the room and actually get there, I enjoy the time and always benefit.
I enjoyed seeing how the event was structured on the web. I have never used Inoreader and this was a good opportunity to see the good ol’ RSS reader in action. Pulling content from various places and putting it all in one spot is so amazing. I was glad to see the comments in the side bar of the write18 site. Very cool.
I have done similar things in various ways on the web and it was nice to see a different tool and a slightly different structure used. Good work by Michelle and Laura Gibbs.
I enjoyed some short twitter interactions and certainly followed some new people. Those little pieces of this event will hang around with me long after the six weeks are over. New people to learn from and share with.
For my work here at the University of Washington, this writing event was a good reminder that faculty can share ideas across the web in useful ways. I have orchestrated similar event at Yavapai College, but have yet to really get one going here in Washington. I have a couple of other similar projects just starting. One using WP here for our Teaching and Learning Center Learning Communities project. I have a couple of Canvas sites that are used for groups of faculty sharing ideas as well.
It has been inspiring to see the scale of this and the many people involved. I feel lucky to have been able to participate!
Todd,
I enjoyed the process too, and learned about the InoReader– I’m sure you have many ideas to use at your university.
I enjoyed reading others’ posts and comments — and was glad to learn about how others are using technology to transform their teaching.
Thanks for your input in helping others in the #CCCWrite community– with the Zoom platform. ~ Sheri
Thanks Sheri. It was nice to have those live conversations. That would be something that perhaps could have been an added event each week? Both a Q&A sort of event, but also one focusing on the weekly prompts?
So many possibilities 🙂
Yes — I agree, the Zoom rooms are great for building community– seeing faces, and chatting together. Adding that in with the prompts or on topics of interest would add another layer of connecting and learning together. Thanks again for your help in this project.
Todd, thank you, once again, for being an inspiration to me and others. Your commitment to sharing and supporting educators is truly admirable. I learn a lot from you. Thank you for your help! Until the next time…
Good stuff. Super happy to watch the work you will create in the new position! What fun!
